I know that most Malay families will be familiar with this so give this recipe a shot. I’ve simply changed some of the ingredients to make it healthier and more natural. The wholegrain flour also gives it a little more chewy texture but overall it tastes amazing.
I also only used 1 tablespoon of honey and it tastes perfect for me. If you feel like you need more sweetness, add another one. Also, the riper the banana, the sweeter it is so keep that in mind. All the best!
This recipe was inspired by Geng Sihat Jemput-Jemput Pisang. I changed and substitute a couple ingredients to make it a little more Asian Meal Prep. 🙂
Jemput-Jemput Pisang
Serves – 4
Time needed – 20 mins
Cost – ~ $0.75
Here’s what you need:
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1 cup wholegrain flour
- 1 tsp self-raising flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 2 tbsp oats
- 1 tbsp shredded coconut
- 1 tbsp honey
- 150g Greek yogurt
Here’s how you do it:
- Begin my preheating oven to 200 degrees celcius. Mash up the bananas together with the yogurt and mix briefly.
- Add in all the other ingredients and mix well with your hand or spatula.
- Line baking tray with some olive oil, add in 1 tbsp of mixture, spread 1-2cm apart.
- Bake for 8-10 mins until golden brown.
- Serve hot.

*Keep in mind that this numbers are a rough guide. It depends on where you buy it and when. At the end of the day it’s possible to eat healthy without breaking the bank. Also, ~ denotes the items that should already be in your pantry for a long time or it’s a very small amount. I’ve also added $0.50 to the final amount for all the ~ items.
